Roadmap
Where Xcellerate RMM comes from and where it is going. The platform has been running real MSP workloads since 2023 — the open-core release makes it public. Dates for future milestones are targets, not promises.

Development started
Work on Xcellerate RMM begins in Sofia: a single Go/Rust-lean agent, extended inventory from day one, and an architecture designed for MSP multi-tenancy.
- 12/2023 — 12/2025Done
Private version in production at an MSP — 2,000 nodes
Two years of hardening under real workloads: a European MSP runs the private version across roughly 2,000 endpoints. Patching, inventory, remote access and automation mature against day-to-day production incidents, not lab tests.

Major milestone: decision to go open-core
RMM Labs Ltd commits to the open-core model. The full platform core will be released as open source under AGPL v3, with Cloud hosting, Enterprise Support and first-party plugins as the commercial layer.
- 12/2025In progress
Preparing the codebase for public release
Repository restructuring, security review, licensing audit of every dependency, public documentation and contribution guidelines — everything needed so the code can stand in the open on day one.
- Q1 2027Planned
Public release of the open-core
The Xcellerate RMM core goes public: source code, self-hosted installers, documentation and the community edition — the complete platform, free, with SSO & MFA included.
- Q2 2027Planned
First public plugin releases
The plugin ecosystem opens up with the first two first-party releases:
Free plugin: Chocolatey for Business in AppDeploy
Native Chocolatey for Business integration inside AppDeploy — private repositories, package internalizer and business packages, at no cost.
Paid plugin: Vulnerability Management
The first commercial plugin: continuous vulnerability scanning across the fleet, CVE matching against the extended inventory, and prioritized remediation through the patch engine.
